Utility Rates

Utility Rates are established by ordinance as voted on by the Altus City Council.
More information on Utility Service related ordinances can be found in the Altus Municipal Code of Ordinances Chapter 44.
All utility rates fees and charges are as provided in the city fee schedule kept on file in the city clerk-treasurer's office.

Electric Rates

Residential Customer Charge

Delinquent Accounts

In the event that any such bill is not paid within 15 days of the billing date, then connection to the city electrical and water systems may be cut off on a date certain as shown on the bill, without further written notice. Automated phone calls will be placed to the phone number(s) listed on the customer's account 24 hours prior to any utilities being disconnected. The delinquent notice portion of the bill shall: 

  1.   Inform customer that authorized agents of the city may disconnect or discontinue any or all utility services to the customer without further written notice if the bill is not paid by the "disconnect date for current charges." 
  2.   Contain the disconnect date for current charges, which shall not be less than ten business days from the due date, inclusively. 
  3.   Contain the balance due, including any delinquent penalty. 
  4.   Inform the delinquent customers of their right to meet with a customer service representative and of the office hours during which a customer service representative is available. 

Delinquent Penalty

The delinquent penalty shall be ten percent on the past due balance and shall be assessed effective on the day of delinquency as shown on the bill.
