The City of Altus will be holding three free events next week during Spring Break.The 3rd Annual BIG truck event will be held on Wednesday, March 21 from 11 am to 1 pm at the parking lot of Western Oklahoma State College parking lot. BIG trucks, tractors, and special vehicles from City of Altus departments will be there for kids and visitors to see, explore, and take pictures. The BIG truck event is free and open to the public.The 2nd Annual Keeping Kids Active Field Day event will be held on Thursday, March 22 from 11 am to 1 pm at Hightower (City) Park at Park Lane and Broadway. Field Day will have several free and fun activities for kids. There will be bubbles, hula hoops, sidewalk chalk, footballs, frisbees, and more! TSET Healthy Living Program is also a sponsor and partner for this event. The Field Day event is also free and open to the public.Spring Break will also see the kick-off of our free Movies in the Park Season. If you’ve enjoyed Movies in the Park before, you’ll be amazed at our ALL NEW 20 foot screen, and professional quality projection and sound! The family-friendly movie, “Leap”, will be screened March 23 in Hightower (City) Park at Park Lane and Broadway. The festivities begin at 7:30 pm and the movie starts at dark. Bring a blanket or chair, and enjoy a night under the stars before heading back to school.“We are excited to offer these free events in Altus. Field Day will be an active and fun event for kids in Altus and the nearby communities enjoy some outdoor play during Spring Break.
