Landfill Unloading Instructions

Landfill Service Rates Effective July 1, 2016
Trash
Within the City Limits
$36.09 per ton*
Outside the City Limits
$49.13 per ton
No Tarp Fee: $20
To help keep our community clean and safe, all loads brought to the Altus Landfill must be covered with a tarp. Uncovered loads can scatter trash and debris along roads, creating hazards for drivers, extra cleanup costs, and environmental issues. If a load arrives without a tarp, a $20 fee is charged. This fee is meant to encourage everyone to properly secure their loads before arriving at the landfill, keeping Altus cleaner and reducing the need for roadside cleanups.
Food Waste
$150.00 per ton
*Residential customers bringing items from their home, not pertaining to a job acting as a contractor, can utilize the landfill at no cost. The resident must come in a personal vehicle with their utility bill and driver’s license; tires must be separate, and residents are responsible for tire fees.
Tires (Each)

** Free Mulch Available at Blaine Drop-Off Site!
The City of Altus has been busy turning tree limbs and brush into wood mulch, and now residents are welcome to come pick some up for free at the Blaine Drop-Off site.
How you can use mulch at home:
• Gardens & Flower Beds – Helps keep moisture in the soil and reduces weeds.
• Around Trees & Shrubs – Protects roots, regulates soil temperature, and looks tidy.
• Walking Paths & Play Areas – Provides a softer, more natural ground covering.
• Composting & Soil Health – Breaks down over time and adds nutrients back into your soil.
Location: Blaine Drop-Off Site
Cost: Free for Altus residents (bring your own shovel and container, truck, or trailer)
Take as much as you can use, and give your yard or garden a natural boost while helping us recycle tree debris into something useful for the community. **
