From October 14, 2025 through the 16th, members of the Altus Electric Department attended the MESO Apprentice Lineman School in Fairview, Oklahoma. This hands-on program provides valuable instruction and field experience for electric utility employees across the state. Representing the City of Altus were Teagan Herron, Shaun Cabler, Ozzy Flores, Pedro Tokarski, Marvin Alexander, and James Cunningham. Teagan Herron demonstrated climbing skills during the event, while the rest of the team participated in training exercises focused on safety, teamwork, and technical skills. In addition, DJ Gonzales and Mitchell Darnell recently completed a two-year MESO Supervisor Development Program — a major professional milestone designed to prepare electric department leaders for supervisory roles. The City of Altus congratulates all participants for their hard work and dedication to safety, leadership, and service to our community.
