The City of Altus is excited to announce that the new pickleball courts located at the Altus Reservoir, near the Water Department, are officially open for daylight play. The project was made possible through the generous support of the Altus Rotary Club #1724, whose contribution helped bring this community vision to life.

Pickleball is a paddle sport that blends the best parts of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. It’s played on a smaller court with a lightweight paddle and a plastic ball with holes, making it easy to learn for beginners while still offering fast-paced, competitive play for experienced athletes.

Once light poles are installed, evening play will also be available. Residents are encouraged to grab a paddle, invite a friend, and enjoy this new addition to Altus recreation.

A quick reminder to everyone enjoying the courts:

- Please be respectful of others waiting to play.

-Use proper pickleball equipment only.

-No skateboards, bikes, or pets on the court surface.

-Pick up your trash and belongings before leaving — let’s keep our new courts clean and beautiful for everyone!

Most importantly — have fun and play fair!
