This year’s Cops & Kids Christmas program reached a new milestone for our community. Thanks to overwhelming support from local partners and donors, the Altus Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #120 helped 22 families, supporting 96 household members during the holiday season. This is the largest number of families ever assisted by the program and reflects the incredible generosity within Altus.
The success of this year's effort was made possible by strong community backing, including the Cops & Cars indoor car and bike show and several private donors who stepped up to support families in need.
Multiple agencies joined forces to assist the Altus FOP Lodge #120, creating a united front of service and holiday cheer. Participating agencies included:
Jackson County Sheriff’s Office
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation
Oklahoma Highway Patrol
Altus Campus Police
Office of Special Investigations
Altus Air Force Base Security Forces
One Officer from Fletcher Police Department
The event also featured a special guest who brought plenty of laughs and holiday spirit. The Grinch joined the team for the day, adding extra excitement for the kids.
Walmart played a key role by providing wrapping supplies, drinks, snacks, and staff members who helped officers shop for each family. Their support strengthened the experience and helped make the day a success from start to finish.
This year’s event showcased the power of partnership, compassion, and teamwork across Altus. With agencies, volunteers, donors, and local businesses coming together, families across our community were able to experience a brighter Christmas.
