Community members, local organizations, and volunteers came together on Saturday, March 7 for the Great American Cleanup Day in downtown Altus. The event focused on improving the appearance of the downtown area through litter pickup, landscaping work, and general beautification efforts.
The cleanup was organized by Main Street Altus in partnership with the Altus Chamber of Commerce as part of the nationwide Great American Cleanup initiative supported by Keep Oklahoma Beautiful.
Volunteers spent the morning collecting trash, trimming landscaping, and working together to help refresh public spaces throughout the downtown district. The event brought together residents of all ages who donated their time and energy to help keep Altus looking its best.
Community cleanup events like this highlight the strong partnership between local organizations, businesses, and residents who care about maintaining a welcoming and vibrant downtown.
