Fogging will take place this Wednesday and Thursday throughout town. If you see the fogging truck coming through your neighborhood, please go indoors and close all windows and doors for safety.

The City of Altus offices and departments will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, July 7. As the holiday approaches, the Altus Police Department would like to remind everyone that fireworks are not allowed within city limits. This is to help keep our neighborhoods safe for residents, pets, and property. If you are celebrating outside the city limits, please follow all safety guidelines: only use fireworks in permitted areas, always have adult supervision, follow safety labels, avoid combining fireworks with alcohol, and never try to relight fireworks that did not go off. Be sure to stay clear of buildings, cars, and dry areas. The City of Altus wishes everyone a fun, safe, and memorable Fourth of July.
